Orphanage Food Pantry

A lot of orphanages are struggling to not only keep a roof over kids heads but feed them during these already challenging economic times. The civil war have left so many of our children without parents. No child should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. Help us, help them.

Help Us Keep the Pantry Full

For a child, a meal should be one of life’s simplest certainties.

There should be a plate waiting after a long day. Enough food to quiet a hungry stomach. Enough nourishment to grow, learn, play, laugh, and simply be a child.

Yet for orphanages and children’s homes across Liberia, providing that certainty can be a daily challenge. Caregivers are doing the important work of creating safe and loving environments for children while also facing the very practical responsibility of putting food on the table—day after day, child after child.

Our Orphanage Food Pantry Initiative was created to stand beside them.

Through this initiative, Progressive Monkeys provides rice and other essential food staples to orphanages caring for vulnerable children in Liberia. Our goal is simple: help keep their pantries stocked so caregivers can spend a little less time worrying about the next meal and more time nurturing the children entrusted to their care.

More Than a Bag of Rice

When we deliver food, we aren’t simply filling a pantry.

We are helping a caregiver stretch limited resources a little further.

We are helping create another morning when a child can wake up knowing there will be something to eat.

No Child Should Have to Wonder Where Their Next Meal Will Come From

Many of Liberia’s children continue to grow up amid difficult economic and family circumstances. Some have lost parents. Others have been separated from family or found themselves dependent upon orphanages and children’s homes for the stability, protection, and care every child deserves.

We cannot replace everything they have lost.

But together, we can help make sure hunger does not become another burden they must carry.

And perhaps most importantly, we are reminding these children that they have not been forgotten.

2026 Feature Initiative

Donation of 50 Bags of Rice to Abundant Life Chapel Orphanage

What began as one member recognizing a need became an opportunity for all of us to make a difference.

In 2026, Abundant Life Chapel Orphanage in Lower Margibi County, Liberia, was brought to the attention of Progressive Monkeys as a cause worthy of our consideration. After learning about the orphanage and the children it serves, the need was presented to our members.

We came together, discussed how we could help, and made a collective decision to act.

Our members voted to provide $750 toward the purchase of rice, turning a simple conversation about a need into something tangible for the children and those who care for them.

This video captures more than a donation.

It represents what can happen when people separated by cities, states, countries, and even continents remain connected by a common desire to give back. It represents alumni coming together—not because we were required to, but because we had an opportunity to help and chose to answer.
