Help provide 100 students in Liberia with essential school clothing for the upcoming academic year.

For many families, the cost of school does not end with tuition or registration. Uniforms, shoes, socks, books, transportation, and other necessities can create significant financial pressure. A student may have access to a classroom but still lack the basic clothing required to attend school comfortably and confidently.

We welcome sponsorship from businesses, alumni, community organizations, churches, professional associations, families, civic groups, and philanthropic organizations.

Our goal is to outfit approximately 100 students with:

2 complete school uniform
1 pair of school shoes
2 pairs of school socks

The estimated cost is approximately $75 per student, including a modest allowance for differences in sizes, local pricing, tailoring, transportation, and distribution expenses.

Recent research on education in Liberia has identified uniforms and other school-related expenses as financial barriers that can make accessing education more difficult for families.

Why Two Uniforms?

Providing one uniform helps a child get to school.

Providing two uniforms makes the assistance considerably more practical.

School uniforms require regular washing, and students, their families or orphanages may not have washing machines, dryers, leaving hand washing and air drying as their only option. A second uniform gives a student another clean set to wear while the first is being washed, drying, repaired, or otherwise unavailable.

Our goal isn’t simply to provide clothing for the first day of school.

We want to help students remain prepared throughout the school year.

$750 — Sponsor Ten Students

20 uniforms + 10 pairs of shoes + socks

$1,875 — Sponsor 25 Students

50 uniforms + 25 pairs of shoes + socks

$3,750 — Sponsor 50 Students

100 uniforms + 50 pairs of shoes + socks

$7,500 — Sponsor the Initiative

Organizations making significant contributions may be recognized through campaign materials, Progressive Monkeys’ website, social media, and other appropriate communications.

All recognition will be handled in a manner that respects the dignity and privacy of participating students.

*Actual procurement costs may vary. We will seek competitive local pricing and bulk purchasing opportunities whenever practical so that sponsorship dollars can reach as many students as possible.

2026 Feature Initiative

Donation of 50 Bags of Rice to Abundant Life Chapel Orphanage

What began as one member recognizing a need became an opportunity for all of us to make a difference.

In 2026, Abundant Life Chapel Orphanage in Lower Margibi County, Liberia, was brought to the attention of Progressive Monkeys as a cause worthy of our consideration. After learning about the orphanage and the children it serves, the need was presented to our members.

We came together, discussed how we could help, and made a collective decision to act.

Our members voted to provide $750 toward the purchase of rice, turning a simple conversation about a need into something tangible for the children and those who care for them.

This video captures more than a donation.

It represents what can happen when people separated by cities, states, countries, and even continents remain connected by a common desire to give back. It represents alumni coming together—not because we were required to, but because we had an opportunity to help and chose to answer.
